Over the break I checked out a great show at the Contemporary Museum of Craft: Gestures of Resistance. It continues for another few months, so go see it! Below are some images from a performance and installation by Frau Fiber. She rode her pedal-powered bike/sewing machine out into the streets of Portland to invite folks passing by to help out.

As participants pedaled, powering her sewing machine, Frau stitched a jacket made from recycled plastic bags.
