The Neighborhood Quilting Project is an on-going community art project, focusing on the Brooklyn Neighborhood in Portland, OR, and the community of people who live there.
I started by going door to door and asking my neighbors for contributions of fabric for a potential quilt or series of quilts that I planned to make. Along with the fabric that I collected from my neighbors, I collected the stories about each item I was given. I am presently working on making a small quilted piece for every person that donated fabric to the project.
